Monday morning
children drag their feet
through cherry petals
winter gale -
carrying a lantern
to the attic window
hurricane beach -
the bleached skeleton of a palm
in the swimming pool
water jets
over a dark vineyard
shooting stars
boarded-up ballpark
a dust devil swirls
along a baseline
conjoined newborns
one given a soother
both stop crying
